Who I Am

Peter Hutchins Engineer was founded to assist owners, contractors and other design professionals optimize MEP designs, avoid installation oversights, and ensure systems are commissioned and turned over optimally including thorough education and training.  My experiences and expertise balance the science of engineering, the skill of construction, and the client’s requirements for schedule, cost, and quality.  I can easily flex with all levels of engineering knowledge and desired involvement, working hands-on to ensure a quality product is delivered without complications.  Whether managing a portfolio rollout at hundreds of locations or identifying a complex one-of-a-kind solution, my strength is in providing the knowledge and forethought to minimize surprises, and an open mind to find resourceful, effective solutions.

I bring you over 30 years of experience as a licensed engineer delivering projects throughout the North America and Internationally.  I am experienced in Engineering Design, Standards Development, Portfolio Management, Construction Inspections, Project Commissioning, Team Training, and Issue Resolution. 

Previously holding the role of Director of Engineering for retailers RH (formerly Restoration Hardware), Gap Inc., and Limited Brands, I lead and developed teams demonstrating by example and actively participating in the design, construction, commissioning, and operations of their MEP systems.
